Private Education in Singapore

Singapore's education system has been described as "world-leading" and in 2010 was among those picked out for commendation by the British education minister Michael Gove. Singapore schools like Canadian and British , are divided into state schools and private schools. The main language of instruction in Singapore is English, which was officially designated the first language within the local education system in 1987. English is the first language learned by half the children by the time they reach preschool age and becomes the primary medium of instruction by the time they reach primary school. 

A large among of parents and students have the crush for the public schools and universities in Singapore, such as World- famous National Technological University and The National University of Singapore which rank in the top 80 and top 30 among the top 100 world-world famous university list, and treat private schools in Singapore with a incredulous attitude. It is understanding that everyone prefer to choose higher quality education. The education is the key to ones future. As such, it is important for one to invest time and effort to make sure that one ends up with a good quality education that will help you advance in ones career in future.  But it not means that education of private school with low quality in Singapore. Choosing high-quality private school to receive education is also a good choice. More than 1,000 private education institutions in Singapore today enroll students more than 100,000. Such a large number of private schools reason from Serve local needs and caters to a large and growing number of international students who wish to pursue an education in Singapore. Private education institutions help to develop human capital, provide opportunities for Singaporeans who wish to upgrade themselves, contribute to the growth of Singapore’s talent pool, support Singapore’s economy and strengthen Singapore’s position as a global education hub. And, Rapid growth of the private education sector in Singapore has led to uneven quality of provision across the sector. There was the Private Education Act, which was gazetted in October 2009 to strengthen the registration framework and enforcement provisions. The Act also provided for the Council for Private Education  to be set up to oversee the new regulatory regime and promote best practices among private education institutions to raise standards in the private education sector over time.

Considering providing students with good choices of high quality private institutes, there should be a series of standard to evaluate the quality.
